BARRISTER PROFILE

Alan Robertshaw was called to the Bar in October 1997. 

 

Formerly at No.1 Dr. Johnson's Buildings and then Goldsmith Chambers, where he remains a door tenant, he moved to Cornwall in 2008.​  

 

He specialises in civil litigation and is authorised by the Bar Standards Board to accept direct public access work and to conduct litigation.

Passionate about animal rights and a keen lover of art and music Alan very much enjoys taking cases in these fields.

 

Alan is a founder member of the Association of Military Court Advocates and a member of the Society of English and American Lawyers.

 

With extensive experience of military law and media law, Alan has acted in numerous courts martial and was a lecturer at the Ministry of Defence Specialist Training School; he also provided pre-publication advice to national newspapers.

Alan enjoys writing legal articles.​  He was the presenter of "Legally Speaking" on Radio Exeter and has made frequent appearances on BBC Radio Cornwall for legal debate and discussion.
